Very thin bo, made of oak, tapered, diameter 25mm at the preferred length

* Shimbukan bo should be used only for kata with controlled force 

Wood is treated with high-quality natural wax polish paste (silicon-free) that nourishes, feeds, and protects the wood and helps to prevent it from drying out. It doesn't leave a film on the wood. As a result, the wood is free from cracks and pealing and it doesn't stick on the hands and has a velvet touch.

If maintenance is needed, super-fine  sandpaper (600-grit) can be used.
