Nuntsaku octagonal

Handmade nintsaku made hard wood.   Wood is treated with high quality natural wax polish paste (silicon free) that nourishes, feeds and protects thewood and helps to prevent it from drying out.It doesn't not leave a film onto the wood. As a result, the wood is free for moving without cracks and pealing and it doesn't stick on the hands and has a velvet touch.

If maintenance is needed, super-fine  sandpaper (600-grit) can be used.

The most common types of nunchaku have octagonal (hakkakukei) or round (maru-gata) wooden handles of equal length connected by a length of rope or chain. 
There is much controversy over its origins: some say it was originally a Chinese weapon, others say it evolved from a threshing flail, while one theory purports that it was developed from a horse's bit and a tool that was used to pound grain or rice
